We would like to introduce you to Holt, a High School Junior in Southern Pines, NC. Holt loves Basketball but has been sidelined for 3 long years. Until last week, Holt has not played basketball since he was in middle school as he has encountered several road blocks. Holt has had three knee surgeries as he tore both of his ACL’s in separate incidents and had another major setback in addition to ACL reconstruction and recovery.

Last week Holt made his basketball come back. He was finally cleared to play. The gym erupted in cheers as Holt made his way onto the court. After his first basket his teammates rushed the court with excitement, almost getting a technical foul.

Seeing the support from his classmates, teammates, coaches, fans, and friends, was the best highlight so far of this season. These photos share a special story…. A story much larger than we have shared here. Holt’s story is one of heartbreak, hard work, pain, sweat, tears, and support. The Pines Media was honored to be at the game and capture this special moment.
